EHR Implementation
Practices that sign up for the DOQ-IT project receive assistance at all points along the EHR implementation
process. We provide information to practices on everything from workflow analysis to live planning; from vendor
selection* to post live evaluation. We collaborate with practices to improve clinical workflow, establish clinical
measures, and improve the quality of healthcare provided to their patients.
CCME’s DOQ-IT team will provide practice workflow redesign and EHR adoption assistance in three phases:
Pre-Implementation
- Learn about the DOQ-IT project.
- Participate in/conduct practice readiness assessments.
- Assess the practice culture.
- Conduct workflow analysis and identify improvement opportunities.
- Identify a project team and leaders.
- Define practice goals for EHR.
Implementation
- Define the practice's EHR system requirements.
- Evaluate vendors and products.
- Begin to prepare staff for an EHR system.
- Select an EHR vendor.
- Create implementation plan and timetable.
- Prepare staff and office for EHR.
Post Implementation
- Target areas for quality improvement
- Make suggestions for workflow enhancement
- Consult on ways to make IT systems more efficient
- Advise on data reporting and possible reward programs
